The stress conditions of components is mainly influenced by the production and especially milling processes like drilling. In general, a non-destructive determination of the residual stresses in the surface layer of bores and undercuts with conventional measurement techniques, like X-ray diffraction or borehole method, is not possible. The micro magnetic measurements, such as Barkhausen noise analysis, offer good possibilities to determine the residual-stress condition of components at these challenging positions. Within the scope this work four drilled specimens with an inner-diameter of 5 mm at different fatigue states were inspected by means of Barkhausen noise measurements. The measurements were performed with an inner-surface sensor tailored for the boundary conditions of the small bores. The absolute residual stresses were determined at cut-opened specimens by means of X-ray diffraction. In the course of the investigation a clear correlation between the Barkhausen noise measurements and the residual stresses measured by X-ray diffraction was found.» weiterlesen» einklappen
