IL-17 and human lung tumour

Laufzeit: 01.01.2008 - 31.12.2009

Kurzfassung

Interleukin 17 (IL-17) is a pro-inflammatory cytokine produced by activated CD4 [+] memory T cells shown to increase the growth rate of human cervical tumors transplanted into athymic nude mice. However, IL-17 increased the generation of specific cytolytic T lymphocytes (CTLs) directed against the immunodominant antigens.

However, IL-17 increased the generation of specific cytolytic T lymphocytes (CTLs) directed against the immunodominant antigens.
Given the importance of the newly discovered T helper 17 cells and their pathogenetic role in autoimmune discorders as well as in tumour we aimed, in this project, at the investigation of the role of IL-17 in lung tumour both in human and in a murine model of broncho-adeno-carcinoma.
