In this paper we provide a threefold contribution to the Surface Computing (SC) community. Firstly, we will discuss frameworks such as “Reality-based Interaction” which provide a deeper theoretical understanding of SC. Secondly, we will introduce our ZOIL user interface paradigm for SC on mobile, tabletop or wall-sized devices.
