Designed and taught by an economist, Prof. Dr. Christian Bauer, and a political scientist, Prof. Dr. Joachim Schild, the project features a broad access to important questions of the current sovereign debt crisis in the European Union. The project will run for three years, from September 2011 to August 2014. It focuses on the basic features of the Economic and Monetary Union (EMU), the empirical record since 1999, and especially on the current crisis problems and possible reforms. The project consists of different modules which include – besides the Master level module taught once a year – lectures, simulations, roundtables, public talks and guest lectures given by researchers and EU officials. Furthermore, by cooperating with the University of Luxembourg, the project implies a cross-border component.

This homepage provides a documentation of our activities and especially a constantly expanding collection of external links to selected EMU-related materials, statistical databases, think tanks and a choice of online publications on the EMU, its current crisis and options for reform.

The project is co-financed by the European Commission under the Lifelong Learning Programme.
