However, the acceptance of insects in the diet is very low within Western society. Given these issues, this paper aims to analyze the consumer acceptance of edible insects as food in Western society and to discuss possible strategies of action for companies, after which a forecast for the further development of the food trend is given. After evaluating the current state of entomophagy and conducting an interview as part of the best practice analysis, various strategies are presented as a plan of action. These include educating and sensitizing the population, product development, introduction into the food retail trade, pricing and offensive marketing strategies. It was found that the food trend has been on the market for over ten years and will continue to grow according to various forecasts. The action plan drawn up to increase consumer acceptance of edible insects in Western society can be useful for start-ups or companies that can derive and implement their own strategies from the recommendations.» weiterlesen» einklappen
