Stem cell senescence or damage leads to tissue aging and various chronic diseases. In order to understand the lung stem cell niche and develop strategies to replace damaged stem cells in this team, here we propose to analyze the status of damaged or senescent stem cells in chronic lung diseases such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.
