Adipose mesenchymal stem cells and lymphangiogenesis in diabetic wounds

Laufzeit: 01.01.2010 - 31.12.2016

Kurzfassung

The increasing prevalence of diabetic wounds will pose an enormous socio-economic challenge on the western health care system in the coming decade. The aim of this project is to achieve a qualitative improvement in wound healing through the application of adipose mesenchymal stem cells and proangiogenic peptides. The goal is not only to obtain a faster wound closure, but also to pay attention to the integrity of the wound lymphangiogenesis, which can be analysed morphometrically in...The increasing prevalence of diabetic wounds will pose an enormous socio-economic challenge on the western health care system in the coming decade. The aim of this project is to achieve a qualitative improvement in wound healing through the application of adipose mesenchymal stem cells and proangiogenic peptides. The goal is not only to obtain a faster wound closure, but also to pay attention to the integrity of the wound lymphangiogenesis, which can be analysed morphometrically in microvascular corrosion casts using a scanning electron microscope (SEM) and in microCT. Furthermore, histopathological work using anti-CD31, anti-PCNA and anti-LYVE1 sections. Using laser Doppler imaging,  non-invasive in vivo  monitoring of the cutaneous microcirculation is carried out.
