We substantiated previous claims that psoriasis patients have a higher cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk profile compared to healthy individuals. Using a novel mouse strain, K14-IL-17Aind/+, we could repeat these findings also in a murine system. The aim of this grant is to further understand the link between psoriasis and CVD. Using antibodies specific to IL-17, IL-6 and TNFa, we will also investigate the interplay between the different pro-inflammatory cytokines.
