Energy metabolism in ovarian cancer

Laufzeit: 01.01.2014 - 31.12.2018

Kurzfassung

Increasing evidence supports the link between energy metabolism and carcinogenesis. Within this project the impact of important energy metabolites on the course of ovarian cancer patientswill be determined using the induced metabolite bioluminescence technique (imBI). Within this project the impact of important energy metabolites on the course of ovarian cancer patients will be determined using the induced metabolite bioluminescence technique (imBI). ImBI allows to measure the concentration of elusive energy metabolites in human cancer samples and to map them with a subsequent histological slice of the cancer sample. Furthermore, the concentration of impartant proteins and their mRNA will be determined by immunohistochemistry and qRT-PCR and correlate with these energy metabolites. Finally, the prognostic impact and the survival rates of these proteins and their mRNA will be validated in a cohort of unselected 250 patient with ovarian cancer by Cox-Regression analyses and Kaplan-Meier estimates.» weiterlesen» einklappen
