Glutathione peroxidase-1 (GPx-1) has been shown to protect against the development of atherosclerotic lesions in humans and mouse models of atherosclerosis. To elucidate the mechanisms in more detail, we analyze GPx-1 deficiency in the apoE knock-out model.
