The TVZ provides a state-of-the art infrastructure to support scientific projects and clinical testings. The FCCF as part of the TVZ has dedicated itself to build up cutting edge expertise in preparative and analytical flow cytometry, which is of value for an immunological research programm such as the FZI. The FCCF as part of the TVZ has dedicated itself to build up cutting edge expertise in preparative and analytical flow cytometry, which is of value for an immunological research programm such as the FZI. It is currently the only facility at the University Medical Center that offers cell sorting under technical and scientific guidance of a specialized scientist and an expert technician. The majority of the FZI-associated groups require access to a cell sorting facility (FCCF) on a continuous basis and guidance in processing sorts as well as diagnostic measurements. Current sorting strategies reached a complexity that is not allowing anymore it to be performed by non-specialists. Therefore the service provided is unique in the University Medical Centre. The team members are constantly acquiring new technologies to provide a state of the art service and training which is of value for an immunological research program such as the FZI.
