Clinical evaluation of an automated FiO2 control in ventilated preterm infants

Thus, in order to warrant a normal neurologic development, supplemental oxygen delivery is a mainstay of treatment. Monitoring and adequat adjustment of the delivery of supplemental oxygen is however challenging and time consuming. Therefore, an automated FiO2 control seems to be a desirable opportunity. During the past years an algorithm has been integrated in a software equipment for neonatal ventilators. It has already been clinically tested and is commercially available. Aim of the project is to evaluate a modified algorithm which allows for faster automated FiO2 adjustments in terms of achieving requested oxygen saturation levels in ventilated preterm infants. The poject is a duocenter randomized controlled study.» weiterlesen» einklappen
