Kurzfassung


This project is based on the Medimind project, which was introduced for developing and evaluating a mindfulness-based stress prevention program for medical students.The major aim is adapting the program for student teachers and evaluating the effectiveness.
The beginning of work life for school teachers requires adapting to unique demands. Key issues are individual organization of work, time constraints and extensive responsibility, especially dealing with children and adolescents.

The beginning of work life for school teachers requires adapting to unique demands. Key issues are individual organization of work, time constraints and extensive responsibility, especially dealing with children and adolescents.
Stressors can be influenced to a certain extent and strategies concerning a benefical way of coping can be learned. In this regard, student teachers should be given the opportunity to participate in a specifically tailored stress prevention program. The program „startklar“ will therefore be evaluated in a  randomized controlled study with an experimental and a wait-list control group. The program will be offered in a training seminar for student teachers in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany.
