The objective of this project is to systematically identify and integrate the up-to-date evidence concerning psycho- and pharmacotherapeutic interventions in the treatment of Cluster A, B, and C personality disorders (exclusive of Borderline personality disorder, which has been the subject of previous work).

In cooperation with the Cochrane Collaboration, exhaustive literature searches will be done. Besides electronic databases, trial registers will also be searched, and researchers will be approached. The search results will be appraised by two reviewers independently. Afterwards, the study results will be statistically integrated by metaanalytic evaluations if possible. If the studies do not allow for statistic evaluation, the findings will systematically be reviewed.
By means of systematic evaluation of the up-to-date evidence, possible treatment approaches for Cluster A, B and C personality disorders will be cross-referenced. Thus, the findings on efficacy will be juxtaposed, and the evidence levels will be scrutinized. The results of the project will help to individually choice adequate treatments for patients, according to the principles of evidence based medicine. The findings will be presented in professional journals, at congresses, and in the Cochrane Library. Thus, they will be accessible nationally as well as internationally for both clinicians and patients. The reviews will regularly be updated.
