The same studies showed that therapists didn't make use of resources activation in an optimal way. The aim of this study was to investigate whether it is possible to change this curative factor experimentally. Immediately before the therapy session, 11 experienced and 11 unexperienced therapists went through a resources training adapted to their patient (priming of individual resources), which was replayed up to the fifth session. This training boosted the resources activation in each single session and improved effectively the therapeutic bond, measured by postsession questionnaires and videoratings by independent observers. The experienced therapists used this positive context to actuate the problems in a stronger way and already in this early phase of therapy. Due to the immediate shift of attention by focussing on the resources of the patients, there is a lasting positive influence of the therapeutic alliance and the problem actuation already at the beginning of a therapy. » weiterlesen» einklappen
