This is fundamental because their different applications are very characteristic and diverse according to the technical equip-ment of each individual industry. For this reason the chain of raw material - product - system must frequently be measured with the possibilities of discipline mineralogy, chemistry and phys-ics; and this is always a function of temperature and often the interaction of various load criteria. Specifications and/or standards are usually applied to characterize material specific data. In ad-dition to a simple data collection and data processing they serve primarily to ensure the compa-rability of data through the use of prescribed equipment and measuring techniques. For the de-velopment and/or research activities it is, however, indispensable to test new material combina-tions and applications under limit and/or maximum conditions. This includes the further devel-opment of appropriate test equipment. In the following will be presented test methods for “Engineered Refractories”, e.g. to determine the thermal shock and clogging behavior of test pieces in metallurgical melts and slags, the min-eral phase development by superposition of temperature and gas corrosion, the effect of melting phase forming agents on the thermal conductivity and the reaction heat as well as the impact of ambient atmospheres on the thermomechanical stability of carbon based refractory ceramics. » weiterlesen» einklappen
