Customers are interested in a technical and economic optimized investment to a photovoltaic system. Often, the focus of project developer is to plan and construct a PV system and maximize the own consumption rate. The economic optimization is disregarded although this is the more important factor. Here we show an algorithm, that is able to optimize a PV system made of two subsystems with different module orientation and inclination. The algorithm takes the load profile, the costs and prices, and the PV yield into account to vary the subsystem capacities and to calculate the annual energy costs. The system setup is automatically optimized by minimization of the energy costs.
